Students follow the Greek national curriculum enriched by the IB Continuum. They are assessed through Greek school grades (on a 1 - 20 scale) and MYP criterion‑referenced standards that value knowledge, skills, critical thinking and real‑world application. Across subjects, students are evaluated on knowing and understanding, enquiring and designing, communicating and producing, reflecting and applying their learning. Progress is monitored through regular reports, benchmark tests and ongoing feedback, so teachers can personalise support and challenge.
Through a supportive and engaging environment, students develop communication, collaboration, self-management, research and thinking skills that help them "learn how to learn". Rooted in the IB Learner Profile, they grow as enquirers, thinkers, communicators and principled, caring individuals. They practise critical and creative thinking, organise tasks efficiently, and reflect on their progress. Guided by teachers, they connect knowledge across subjects, solve problems, make informed decisions and work effectively with others, gaining confidence, independence and the skills needed to thrive as responsible, well-rounded individuals.
Middle School students can pursue our Bilingual Programme, engaging with English in selected subjects and projects while maintaining a strong academic foundation in Greek. In parallel, they can broaden their horizons with optional additional languages such as French, German and Spanish. Through experiential approaches to “learning the language” and “learning with the language”, they gradually prepare for external certifications such as DELF, Goethe‑Zertifikat, DELE and Ancient Greek LanguageCert, building a robust multilingual profile and the confidence to communicate in diverse cultural contexts. By the end of this phase, their level of English and overall achievement can be formally recognised through Cambridge and Michigan Certifications.
Students step confidently onto the global stage through a rich range of international and intercultural experiences. Our highly active Model United Nations club attends prestigious conferences in Greece and abroad, while PS MUN, hosted on campus, is one of the country’s leading conferences, welcoming around 700 delegates each year. A dedicated Virtual MUN for Grades 6 - 8 supports students in developing confidence and skills in debating global issues online.
Through ISP’s International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS), virtual exchanges strengthen international mindedness. These global collaborations connect learners with peers across the ISP network, developing cultural awareness, communication and teamwork skills. Recent examples include Grade 8 students working with Mile School in Milan, exploring monuments, music and cuisine, while Grade 10 learners joined Manthan International School students in India to co-create a digital tourist guide.
From Grade 9, students and families are supported in exploring each learner’s unique academic and professional journey. Through psychologist‑led briefings, career days, orientation sessions and university presentations, students begin to understand their strengths, interests and aspirations.
IB Middle Years Programme
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme places students at the centre of learning, combining rigorous academic goals with real-world enquiry. Guided by the IB’s global contexts, learners explore why their learning matters and how it connects to their own lives. Through interdisciplinary projects, multilingual learning and a strong focus on “learning how to learn”, they develop critical thinking, flexibility and ethical judgement. This nurtures internationally minded people who can navigate complexity with confidence and act as responsible, global citizens.
MYP Service as Action
With Service as Action, students are empowered to connect classroom learning with real-world contribution. From class-based projects to school-wide initiatives and global engagement, they identify community needs, plan and carry out meaningful actions.
Initiatives such as the Think For Good conference offer a structured framework for pupils to explore social issues, propose solutions and take collective action supported by the whole school. In the process, students realise their ability to make a difference locally and globally while developing collaboration, leadership and ethical decision-making skills.
MYP Personal Project
The Personal Project is the culminating experience of the MYP, completed over the course of a year. Students independently investigate a topic they truly care about, then design and create a product or outcome and reflect on their learning journey.
This project allows students to apply the skills they’ve developed throughout the programme, especially self-management, research and critical thinking, while demonstrating personal growth and academic independence.
MYP Labs
In MYP Labs designed for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, Middle Years students engage with interdisciplinary challenges through hands-on, project-based learning. One day each week, they take part in STEAM Workshop Day, tackling real-life problems in flexible spaces on and off campus, blending language, science, arts and technology.
Teaching and learning in the MYP is organised around a set of “big ideas” called key concepts. These concepts are explored across all subjects and through varied practices, giving breadth and depth to the curriculum and helping students connect their learning within and beyond the classroom.
