What's happening
Open Day | 14th November
Children at Platon School begin as curious researchers of the world from ages 3 to 6, in a warm and nurturing environment, with the option to follow either a Greek or English curriculum pathway. Our Greek Early Years programme is enriched by the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Reggio Emilia approach, so young children learn through play and enquiry, developing strong social, emotional and academic foundations for the years ahead.
Bespoke curriculum
Pupils learn through a bespoke curriculum that blends the Greek national framework with the IB PYP and Reggio Emilia approaches, learning every day through play, exploration and enquiry.
Life skills
Children grow up confident and ready for an interconnected world, building social and emotional skills through the ISP Life Competencies Framework, enhanced by the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATLs).
Outstanding bilingual programme
Students in Platon School’s Greek-English Bilingual Programme experience both languages naturally every day, learning with native-speaking teachers in an IB-supervised environment that nurtures confidence and curiosity from an early age.
Dedicated learning areas
Our children learn in bright, nurturing classrooms with direct access to the renovated garden and a welcoming library, as well as nearby spaces for movement and physical play.
Life beyond academics
Children step into a lively world of movement, creativity and play after lessons. With age‑appropriate sports, arts and activity clubs, they begin to discover interests, build early skills and feel part of a caring school community.
Creativity in action
Children explore, move and imagine in our atelier, using clay, paint, wire, light and digital tools. Guided by an atelierista, they express ideas, test theories and learn through the arts.
Partnership with parents
Parents stay connected to classroom life through regular updates, parent-teacher meetings and the Total School platform, with newsletters, end-of-year exhibitions and student-led events such as Back to School and Open Day, all sharing learning, progress and achievements.
Specialist academies
Pupils discover movement and teamwork in our specialist academies in karate, dance, swimming and basketball, building confidence, coordination and a joy in active play from the earliest years.
Individualised attention
Teachers at Platon School personalise learning so every child is seen, supported and encouraged. Drawing on the IB and Reggio Emilia approaches, alongside our strong emphasis on inclusivity and wellbeing, they listen and collaborate closely with each student.
Extended care options
Children enjoy extended Early Years care in a safe, nurturing setting, with time for rest, snacks, outdoor play and creative activities that support their social, emotional and physical development until 4.30pm.
Focus on sustainability
Students start to place sustainability at the heart of their learning, noticing the environment around them and beginning to make simple, eco‑conscious choices in their daily school life.
Friendly admissions process
Our admissions process is clear and responsive, ensuring a smooth transition as we warmly welcome your family into our vibrant community.
Children begin their learning journey through a curriculum that combines the Greek national framework with the IB PYP and Reggio Emilia approaches. Learning is joyful, play-based and enquiry-led, respecting each child’s pace and personality. Our programme nurtures curiosity and creativity while building confidence, early social skills and strong foundations for lifelong learning in a safe and inclusive environment.
Finding your voice Pupils grow as confident communicators. Through talk, early writing and multilingual experiences, they learn to share their ideas, stories and feelings clearly and respectfully with others.
Knowing yourself, learning with others Children develop a strong sense of self and emotional awareness, while learning to listen, care and collaborate. They practise empathy, resilience and positive relationships in everyday situations.
Confidence in the water Once a week, children aged 3 to 6 enjoy swimming in our indoor heated pool, under strict safety and hygiene standards. Through playful water activities, they gain confidence, learn basic strokes and develop coordination, balance and breathing control. Swimming supports physical strength and respiratory health, while also building focus, self‑belief, cooperation and a sense of security as children learn to move safely and joyfully in the water.
Discovering patterns, questions and solutions
Through hands-on exploration, children play with early maths, investigate the natural world and experiment with simple tools and technology, building curiosity, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
From age 4, they also begin ALOHA Mental Arithmetic, using the abacus and mental visualisation to strengthen concentration, memory and confidence with numbers in a playful way.
Expressing ideas through body and imagination Through movement, music, drama and visual arts, young children strengthen their bodies and discover meaningful ways to express who they are, what they feel and how they think. From Early Years, learning takes place in a dedicated art studio inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, where hands, senses and intuition guide exploration. Supported by a specialist arts teacher, children work with colours, textures and natural materials, building confidence, creativity and early relationships, while using art as a language to understand themselves, others and the world around them.
Our Bilingual Programme welcomes children from age 3, offering families a choice between the Greek Curriculum and a bilingual pathway, where children learn alongside both a Greek and a native English-speaking teacher who share the classroom together. This dual-teacher model creates a naturally bilingual environment where young learners absorb both languages through play, exploration and daily routines. English becomes a living part of their world as they engage in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), where one of our subjects is taught in English, making language acquisition meaningful and contextual rather than isolated.
Every day at Platon School is a gentle rhythm of play, exploration and care. In small, nurturing groups, children move between focused learning, creative projects and outdoor time, with families choosing core hours and an optional extended afternoon in a joyful setting.

Life competencies

Multilingualism
Students embark on a bilingual journey in Greek and English through classes and activities in both languages.
From the earliest years, children learn by exploring, questioning and making sense of the world around them. Guided by the IB PYP and Reggio Emilia approach, learning goes beyond memorisation to develop thinking skills, early numeracy and the ability to make connections. Through play-based enquiry, children observe, experiment and reflect on how they learn, gradually taking ownership of their learning journey. Simple self‑evaluation helps them notice what they can do, celebrate small successes and stay engaged in a supportive environment.
Parents stay closely informed through a clear and open communication rhythm, including Welcome Day, Back to School moments, regular meetings with teachers and daily updates via the Total School platform. Learning is celebrated and shared during Bright Minds, Bright Year, our end-of-year exhibition that makes progress, creativity and growth visible.
Children at Platon School learn with mind, senses and intuition, building relationships and engaging meaningfully with the world. Daily experiences nurture thinking skills as they acquire knowledge, analyse ideas, make connections and understand cause and effect. They are encouraged to reflect on how they learn, developing early metacognitive awareness through questions such as “How did I learn this today?”
Social and communication skills grow through play, collaboration and early literacy, while non-verbal and multilingual expression are encouraged. Self-management and motor skills support independence and wellbeing, as children regulate emotions, follow shared rules and make safe choices. Enquiry underpins all learning, fostering agency, curiosity and positive, respectful relationships.
From Early Years onwards, children can choose Platon School’s Greek-English Bilingual Programme, experiencing both languages as a natural part of everyday life. English is present daily with native-speaker teachers, within a programme supervised and certified by the International Baccalaureate.
Languages develop in parallel as children learn both the language itself and learn through the language, building core structures while using English and Greek to explore stories, ideas and early concepts. This immersive approach supports confident communication, cultural openness and strong foundations for future international learning.
Reggio Emilia approach
Children are seen as capable, curious citizens of today, not just tomorrow. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, we build a self‑guided curriculum around children’s questions and interests. Teachers, parents and the environment act as “three teachers”, offering rich materials, natural light and shared spaces that invite exploration. Multiple forms of expression are valued, so each child can discover their own strengths and unique languages of learning.
Arts and the Atelier
Children use the arts as a living language to explore, imagine and make thinking visible. In our atelier, guided by an atelierista, they experiment with clay, paint, wire, light, sound, movement, digital tools and recycled materials.
As they test ideas, reflect and collaborate, they connect concepts across science, language and maths, turning creativity into deep understanding.
IB Primary Years Programme
The IB Primary Years Programme at Platon Schools begins in Early Years and continues through Primary School, supporting the whole child physically, emotionally and intellectually. Learning is organised around big, conceptual questions that connect different subjects and start from children’s own ideas. The Greek curriculum and language are fully integrated, so pupils gain deep understanding, confidence, creativity and problem‑solving skills in a truly bilingual, internationally minded environment.
Child-led daily learning
Every day is a blend of routines and child‑led discovery. Children move between circle time, project work, outdoor play, arts and movement, choosing many of their activities and often co‑creating the class project through their questions and observations. Teachers design an environment that sparks curiosity and then follow the children’s lead, offering gentle, ongoing feedback so learning feels joyful, meaningful and personal, while steadily building skills, friendships and confidence.
At my school I have a wonderful time. We play many games, we go out to the garden and we learn English and many new things. Our teacher surprises us and we are very happy.
