Inclusion FAQs

Platon is a truly inclusive school. We embrace the individuality of every child - welcoming students of all abilities and backgrounds. We aim to provide a supportive environment so each child can thrive academically, emotionally and socially.

The Student Support Team includes school psychologists, a speech therapist, and special education therapists. They work together to help students succeed by assessing needs, creating support programs, and monitoring progress.

In-class individual support involves the presence of an adult (Support Teacher/Assistant) in the classroom to help a student with learning and socialization. The ultimate goal is for the student to gradually become independent, while the Support Teacher focuses solely on the assigned student and does not act as a general classroom aide.

Parents play an active role in their child’s education. They:

  • Request any arrangements or services needed for children with special education needs.
  • Provide all necessary information and documents.
  • Submit documentation for IBO accommodation requests.
  • Cooperate with the Student Support Team to support interventions at home.
